Description
Covid-19 brought to light the failures of car-centric zoning policies and urban development, forcing cities to reevaluate sustainable mobility’s role in achieving public health goals and the need to urgently address air quality and transport people safely. Health and place are intimately linked, wherein lower income and other communities at risk face greater health disparities due to land use planning and policies that reinforce negative public health outcomes. By aligning sustainable transport and urban development with equitable public health, this session identifies strategies to campaign against congestion and sprawl, and for urban livability and clean air.
